2016 Tasmanian Magic Millions Yearling Sale to be the best

Thursday, February 11, 2016
ORGANISERS of the 2016 Tasmanian Magic Millions Yearling Sale are expecting this year’s event to be the best on record.

The catalogue is jam packed full of quality yearlings and if the comments from one prominent trainer John Blacker is any guide, the average sale price record per lot could be well and truly broken.

Blacker took part in the MM Yearling Sale pre-sale stud tour last week that was organised by Tasbreeders and Tasracing.

“This is the best quality of yearlings I’ve seen in a very long time,” Blacker said.

“The pre-sale tour gives us a chance to have a decent look at many of the yearlings to be offered and from what I‘ve seen I don’t reckon I’ll be able to leave the sale ring for fear of missing one that I like,” he said.

This year’s catalogue boasts 126 lots including a half-sister to the Darren Weir-trained Palentino that is unbeaten from two starts that includes a Listed race at Flemington last season and he was made a black booker after his first-up run at Caulfield last Saturday.

Palentino’s half-sister by Tough Speed will go under the hammer as Lot 21.
